Abstract
EN : The purpose of research: to substantiate and develop theoretical and practical foundations for the organisation of psychosocial support for war veterans in Ukraine. Object of research: the system of psychosocial support for war veterans as a social institution functioning in the context of transformations in contemporary Ukrainian society. Subject of research: theoretical and methodological approaches and practical mechanisms for organising psychosocial support for war veterans within the framework of the modern social work system. Research methods: analysis, synthesis, generalisation, induction, concretisation, systematisation, analogy, questionnaires, interviews, document analysis, methods of mathematical statistics. Hypothesis: the effectiveness of psychosocial support for veterans increases when professional development is combined with the active involvement of the family in the adaptation process and the creation of a stable social environment. Conclusions: 1. The system of social work with veterans in Ukraine is fragmented and needs to be updated as a tool for restoring their agency. 2. Psychosocial support is an interdisciplinary process of restoring emotional, cognitive and social functioning, the effectiveness of which depends on an individual approach and coordination of services. 3. Institutional assistance is poorly accessible and uncoordinated, and veterans have low awareness of their rights, which leads to maladjustment. 4. The study showed a decline in the psychological state of most veterans, but positive dynamics among those who receive personalised support.
