EN : The work is presented on 62 pages of printed text, contains 6 figures, 29 tables, 6 appendices. The list of references includes 46 sources. The object of the study is the psychological factors of overcoming stress by an adult person in conditions of Russian armed aggression. In recent years, interest in studying the psychological mechanisms of overcoming stress has grown significantly, which indicates the prevalence of this phenomenon. Particular interest is paid to the issue of overcoming stress factors in Ukrainians during the period of military aggression. One of these factors is optimism as a resource for overcoming stress. The fact that our country is now in a very dangerous state, aggression from Russian troops, constant shelling, etc., all this affects our lives. But despite all this, the population of Ukraine does not lose its thirst for life. And one of the resources for overcoming stressful situations in these difficult times is a positive life position, which characterizes optimism. Problem statement: the very important importance of optimism for the individual, which is considered in the theoretical plane, is that it is confirmed by numerous empirical studies that prove its connection with physical and mental health, with motivation, with success and creative achievements. Most often, optimism is understood as a belief in a successful course of events, expectation of the best, based on past experience, and it is also a positive attitude to life. Both in past years and today, many scientists have studied this concept, they tried to explain its nature, adhering to a similar point of view. It is precisely this importance of optimism for a person, for his well-being and self-realization that was emphasized. The scientific novelty of the study lies in the comprehensive study of optimism as a significant resource for overcoming stress, anxiety, which increases the adaptive capabilities of the individual's potential during military operations.
