Термінологія сфери медичної психології і психіатрії та особливості її україномовного перекладу

Abstract

EN : The article analyzes the terminology of medical psychology and psychiatry, and it’s translation into Ukranian language. Our attention is concentrated on selection of appropriate lexis, analysis of the patterns of its translation. The article provides examples of various translation strategies, such as transcoding, loand transcription, and descriptive translation – authors analyzed their specifications, as well as advantages and disadvantages. The available interpretations of the concept of "term" by authors were analyzed, based on which an own definition was proposed. It was found that the number of psychological and psychiatric terms is constantly increasing, and their term formation most often occurs by the suffix-prefix method. It has been established that the translation of medical terms in the field of medical psychology and psychiatry concerns the psychological and mental health of the patient and affects his life, so the quality of such a translation must be very high.
