Лінгвостилістичні особливості перекладу роману Т. Пратчетта «Small Gods» українською та російською мовами

Abstract

UA : Дипломна робота – 61 стор., 55 джерел, 3 додатки. Об’єкт дослідження: оригінал та переклад російською (виконаний Н. Берденніковим та А. Жикаренцевим) та українською мовою (виконаний автором представленої кваліфікаційної роботи) роману Т. Пратчетта “Small Gods”. Мета роботи: вивчення і наукове обґрунтування лінґво-стилістичних особливостей перекладу роману Т. Пратчетта “Small Gods” російською та українською мовою. Теоретико-методологічні засади: ключові положення теорії перекладу, які розроблені в лінгвістиці та перекладознавстві (В. І. Карабан, Р. П. Зорівчак, Л. С. Бархударов, Є. В. Бреус, В. М. Комісаров, Л. К. Латишев, Я. І. Рецкер, А. В. Федоров, А. Д. Швейцер та ін.). Отримані результати: у тексті перекладу роману Т. Пратчетта “Small Gods” російською мовою найбільш частотними перекладацькими трансформаціями були: перестановка слів, додавання, опущення, конкретизація значення, антонімічний переклад та адаптація. У представлених нами українських варіантах перекладу фрагментів роману також було використано перекладацькі трансформації, серед яких найбільш частотними були: перестановка слів, додавання, конкретизація значення та адаптація. У ході дослідження нам вдалося визначити найбільш вживані трансформації при перекладі, а також порівняти різницю структур двох цільових мов, яка впливає на способи та особливості перекладу.

EN : The presented paper explores the lingua-stylistic features of the Russian and Ukrainian translation of the novel “Small Gods” by Terry Pratchett, which is the thirteenth book of the series “Discworld”. Russian translation was done by N. Berdennikov under the editorship of A. Zhikarentsev. The Ukrainian version of the translation of fragments of the novel is provided by us. During the study of the theoretical foundations of literary translation, we were able to identify and analyze the linguistic and stylistic features of the studied work, as well as to determine transformations that were used in the process of translation into Russian. To fulfill our main objective, we translated the fragments of the text from English into Ukrainian. Thus, we were also able to determine the difference in approaches to translation of fiction by comparing the transformations that were used in two different languages in the target texts. In the first chapter of the present paper, we consider the theoretical foundations of fiction translation studies. The second chapter of our paper fully addresses the definition and analysis of transformations that were used in the translation into Russian and Ukrainian. As a result, we determined that literary translation can be considered one of the most complex types of translation. This is due to a number of reasons, among which the following can be distinguished: - high concentration of stylistic devices in the original text, which are challenging to translate; - historical and national linguistic features of the text; archaisms and author's neologisms; - personal style of the author, which is important to preserve in translation. Summing up, we can say that the use of translation transformations is determined by the need for the translator to accurately convey the original text in the target language. In most cases, these transformations help make the text more understandable, following the established rules of the language into which the translation is performed. But, after analyzing the transformations used in

translating the novel into Russian by N. Berdennikov under the editorship of A. Zhikarentsev, we can say that quite often professional translators use these transformations to suit their own style. As a rule, this does not affect the perception of the text, but makes it more literary correct. We believe that translation into Russian is adequate, because when translating humorous literature it is quite difficult to maintain the necessary mood of the book, and also convey the personal style of the writer, which, in our opinion, these translators managed to do. As for translation into Ukrainian, we hope that our work in the future will contribute to the promotion of the works of T. Pratchett among Ukrainian translators and will boost their interest in translating such literature.
