Англомовні лексичні інновації на позначення пандемії коронавірусу COVID-19 та способи їх перекладу

Abstract

EN : The presented paper is dedicated to the analysis of such a topical problem as the innovative English lexical units denoting coronavirus COVID-19 pandemics and their translation. The object of the work can be defined as the English lexical innovations denoting coronavirus COVID-19 pandemics. The main aim of the paper consists in definition lingual and sociolingual features of English lexical innovations denoting coronavirus COVID-19 pandemics and methods of their translation. It determined the accomplishment of such objectives as: • consider neology as a branch of lexicology; • consider classifications of neologisms; • define the concept of neologism • explore method of forming of neologisms; • to find out the structural and semantic features of neologisms; • consider techniques of translating of neologisms; • consider translation strategies of reproduction of neologisms in translation; This work considered translation methods and translation strategies of reproduction of neologisms in translation as domestication and foreignization. It was given own translation of innovations denoting coronavirus COVID-19 pandemics from English into Ukrainian and their classification by method of forming. The scientific novelty is an attempt to summarize the theoretical information about English-language lexical innovations to denote the pandemic of the coronavirus COVID-19 and provide them with comprehensive structural and semantic characteristics.

Янкова, Р. К. Махачашвілі, Л. Ф. Омельченка, О. Д. Мешкова, McKean E., Algeo J., Sheidlower J., Fischer R, Sornig K. Отримані результати: Найбільш продуктивними способами творення англомовних лексичних іновацій на позначення пандемії коронавіруса COVID-19 у сучасній англійській мові є словоскладання та телескопія. Серед досліджених неологізмів утворених за словоскладання ─ 55%, телескопія ─ 44% Переклад неологізмів має деякі труднощі, це пов’язано з тим, що ці слова відсутні у словниках. При перекладі неологізмів перекладачу може допомогти контекст, знання складових частин неологізму. Найпродуктивнішим сполсобом перекладу є транскодування ─ 48% та калькування─ 48,5%.
