The development of modern students takes place in rather difficult conditions. Having become a student of a higher education institution, a former graduate of the school embarks on his own path of success and growth, personal and professional development. Higher school becomes the basis for revealing and developing the individual's numerous capabilities: intellectual, moral, communicative, and leadership. However, this path is accompanied by various obstacles, barriers, difficult tasks, overcoming which the student will be able to get a result. Therefore, the ability to plan, organize and carry out one's own activities in a timely manner also affects its effectiveness. The scientific novelty of the obtained results is determined by the fact that the theories of the phenomenon of procrastination were investigated for the first time, the factors and factors that determine the occurrence of procrastination in students were investigated.
