Специфіка перекладу контрактів з англійської мови на українську

Abstract

UA : Об’єкт дослідження: специфіка перекладу типових контрактів з англійської на українську мову Програми розвитку Організації Об’єднаних Націй (ПРООН) та Управління Верховного комісара ООН у справах біженців (УВКБ ООН). Мета роботи: аналіз перекладацьких особливостей перекладу контрактів з англійськоїмови на українську мову. Теоретико-методологічні засади складають наукові дослідження таких мовознавців як Л. П. Білозерська, М. В. Ванслав, В. Г. Згурська, В. В. Калюжна, А. В. Ключник, І. В. Корунець, Г. О. Хацер, І. А. Сидоренко, Л. М. Черноватий, В. І. Карабан, Л. О. Ярова. Отримані результати: Переклад контрактів як текстів юридичного дискурсу ускладнюється багатозначністю та омонімією слів, специфічністю юридичної мови, особливостями трактування іноземних реалій тощо. В цілому, специфіку перекладу контрактів можна розглядати у трьох аспектах: структурному, лексичному та граматичному. Структурними особливостями контрактів є чіткий поділ тексту контракту на розділи, підрозділи, параграфи, існує тенденція до відображення значущої інформації у межах одного речення. Лексичною базою контрактів є загальновживана нейтральна лексика пласта, яка поєднується зі спеціальною та термінологічною лексикою, а також скороченнями, абревіатурами, неасимільованими латинськими та французькими запозиченнями, клішованими виразами. Граматика контрактів відрізняється формальністю. Використання граматичних форм та часових форм є обмеженим, провідна роль належить модальним дієсловам та неособовим формам. Загальновживана лексика перекладається шляхом генералізації, конкретизації, перестановки, заміни, додавання, опущення, синтаксичного уподібнення; основними трансформаціями, що застосовуються при роботі з термінологічною лексикою, є генералізація, калькування, транскодування, заміна та описовий переклад. Найбільш поширені прийоми та трансформації при перекладі контрактів з англійської мови на українську в граматичному аспекті є перестановка, заміна, додавання, опущення, синтаксичне уподібнення.

EN : The presented Master's thesis is dedicated to the analysis of such a topical problem as structural, grammatical and lexical features of the translation of contracts from English to Ukrainian. The object of the work can be defined as specifics of translation of standard UNDP and UNHCR contracts from English to Ukrainian. The main aim of the paper consists in analyzing and describing the difficulties of the translation of contracts from English to Ukrainian and offer some solutions. It determined the accomplishment of such objectives as:  analyze the existing classifications of the contracts;  describe the specifics of the language of contracts;  carry out a review of scientific literature and find out the degree of study of the problem in Ukrainian and foreign translation studies;  consider the peculiarities of the translation of UNDP economic contracts. The theoretical foundations are made up of the positions of such linguists as L. P. Bilozerska, M. V. Vanslav, V. G. Zgurska, V. V. Kalyuzhna, A. V. Klyuchnyk, I.V. . Korunets, H. Khatser, I. A. Sydorenko, L. M. Chernovaty, V. I. Karaban, L. O. Yarova. Obtained results: Translation of contracts as texts of legal discourse is complicated by ambiguity and homonymy of words, specificity of legal language, peculiarities of interpretation of foreign realities, etc. In general, the specifics of contract translation can be considered in three aspects: structural, lexical and grammatical. The structural features of contracts are a clear division of the contract text into sections, subsections, paragraphs, a tendency to display significant information within one sentence. The lexical bases of contracts commonly use neutral vocabulary of the layer, which is combined with special and terminological vocabulary, as well as abbreviations, abbreviations, unassimilated Latin and French borrowings, clichéd expressions. The grammar of contracts differs in the level of

formality up to archaic forms. The use of grammatical forms and tenses is limited, the leading role belongs to modal verbs and impersonal forms. Commonly used vocabulary is translated by generalization, concretization, permutation, substitution, addition, omission, syntactic assimilation; the main transformations used when working with terminological vocabulary are generalization, tracing, transcoding, replacement and descriptive translation. The most common methods and transformations in the translation of contracts from English to Ukrainian in the grammatical aspect are permutation, replacement, addition, omission, syntactic assimilation. The scientific novelty of the presented research is the description and analysis of the key aspects of translating contracts from English to Ukrainian language.
