Ідіостильові особливості зображення жінки у романах В. С. Моема як проблема перекладу

Abstract

UA : Кваліфікаційна робота: 73 сторiнки, 2 рисунки, 1 таблиця, 77 джерел. Об’єкт дослідження: ідіостильові та жанрово-стилістичні особливості створення образу жінок в англійській літературі ХІХ – XXст. і, зокрема, у творах В. С. Моема. Мета роботи: дослідження художніх творів В. С. Моема у парадигмі перекладознавства крізь призму гендерної проблематики. Теоретико-методологічні засади: праці, які присвячені питанням вивчення новелістичного жанру в світовій художній літературі: О. Беляева, М. Воропанова, Ю. Ковалев, також роботи дослідників, яких цікавила саме творчість В. С. Моема: I. Кон, Г. Пучкова. Отримані результати: виявлено витоки проблематики модерністичної літератури; розглянуто ідіостильовий аспект творчості В. С. Моема; систематизовано жанрово-стилістичні та ідіостильові особливості художніх творів у парадигмі перекладознавства на матеріалі новел і романів В. С. Моема; окреслено головні проблеми гендерної нерівності на прикладах новел Моема; визначено перекладацькі трансформації при перекладі художніх творів автора; схарактеризовано лексико-синтаксичні особливості ідіостилю В. С. Моема.

EN : The title of the master's thesis: "Idiostylistic features of the image of a woman in the novels of W. S. Maugham as a translation problem". The total amount of work is 74 pages (the amount of the main text is 65 pages). The work consists of an introduction, two sections, 1 table, 2 figures, conclusions to sections, general conclusions, an abstract in Ukrainian and a summary in English, a list of sources used. The relevance of scientific research is due to the fact that the work of W. S. Maugham and the specifics of depicting female images in his works are an important topic in the development of translation theory. We will also look at how several novels by W. S. Maugham and their idiostyle features are translated. In this regard, the linguistic and translation analysis of English-language artistic terminology is very significant and relevant. The master’s work is carried out within the framework of an artistic and linguistic topic developed by the staff of the Department of theory, practice and translation of the English language. The aim of the research is to reveal the peculiarities of translating English-language terms into Ukrainian on the material of W. S. Maugham's novels. To achieve this goal, a number of tasks were completed, namely:  have been identified the origins of modernistic literature;  have been considered the idiostylistic aspect of W. S. Maugham's work;  have been systematized genre-stylistic and idiostylistic features of works in the paradigm of translation studies based on the material of short stories and novels by W. S. Maugham;  have been outlined the main problems of gender inequality using examples of Maugham's short stories;  have been determined translation transformations when translating the author's works; have been described the lexical and syntactic features of W. S. Maugham's idiostyle. The choice of the method of work is determined by the originality of the tasks set. The object of research is idiostyle and genre-stylistic features of the image of women in English literature of the XIX – XX centuries and transformation in translation. The subject of the research is the peculiarities of translation of the works of W. S. Maugham. The practical meaning of the research is focusing on unresolved aspects of the problem of translating fiction. Analysing English short stories is relevant for modern translation studies, and the fact that we are interested in the gender vector of such research allows us to present new facets of the novel. Translation of such works plays an important role for a foreign audience and their correct understanding of the style and motive of the writer's work.
