Переклад безеквівалентної лексики українською мовою (на матеріалі роману Льюіса Керрола: “Through the Looking Glass and what Alice Found there”)

Abstract

UA : Дипломна робота – 74 стор., 81 джерело. Об’єкт дослідження: безеквівалентна лексика у творах Льюіса Керрола. Мета роботи: визначення поняття, типів безеквівалентної лексики, способів перекладу безеквівалентної лексики українською мовою у творах Льюіса Керрола. Теоретико-методологічні засади: дослідженню особливостей перекладу та проблемі визначення безеквівалентної лексики присвятили увагу у своїх наукових роботах дослідники М. П. Кочерган, Л. М. Дяченко, Н. Ф. Зайченко, О. В. Коваль-Костинська, О. Л. Паламарчук, Т. А. Космеда, А. В. Волошина, Л. І. Машуровська, О. І. Кремльова. Типологія поетонімів розглянута у наукових працях С. І. Зініна. Отримані результати: Аналізуючи твори Льюіса Керрола та їх переклади, були виявлені наступні способи перекладу власних назв та реалій, як складових частин безеквівалентної лексики: транслітерація і транскрипція, калькування, уподібнюючий переклад, описовий переклад, використання оказіоналізмів та ідіоматичних виразів. Для перекладу оказіоналізмів використовуються такі способи як нульовий переклад, описовий переклад або використання власних оказіоналізмів.

EN : The topic of the master thesis is methods of translating non-equivalent vocabulary in English. The objectives of the research are to define the concept of non-equivalent vocabulary, determine its forms, single out ways of translating non-equivalent vocabulary, outline the problem of delimitation and reproduction. The paper covers the methods of translating non-equivalent vocabulary in English, considers the problems of distinguishing the concept of "non-equivalent lexical units", linguistic realia and problems of their translation, methods of determining non-equivalent vocabulary and its specifics, the relationship of language and culture. The master's thesis consists of an introduction, two chapters, conclusions, list of references, summary in Ukrainian and English, two appendices. The introduction substantiates the relevance of the research topic, outlines its objectives, in this section object and subject of research are defined, research methods are described, theoretical and practical significance of the research within the framework of translation studies are indicated. The first chapter provides a detailed examination of the general characteristics of non-equivalent vocabulary, outlines the claffification criteria for the langiage units under analysis, focuses on the strategies and means of reproducing non-equivalent English vocabulary in Ukrainian. The second section presents the principles of classification and selection of correspondences in translation, as well as examples of translation without equivalent vocabulary in Lewis Carroll’s “Through the Looking Glass and what Alice Found there”. The conclusions summarize the key findings and present the theoretical and practical significance of the master's thesis. The paper consists of 74 pages. The list of references has 81 items.
