Лексико-семантичні особливості перекладу роману Р. Ріґґза “Miss Peregrine’s home for peculiar children” українською мовою

Abstract

EN : The presented paper is dedicated to the analysis of the lexical and semantic changes in the process of translation of the novel “Miss Peregrines home for peculiar children” published by Ransom Riggs. The object of research is the translation transformations and lexical and semantic features of Ransom Riggs' novel “Miss Peregrines home for peculiar children” with the achievement of full adequacy and equivalence in translation. The aim of the work is to analyze and study the lexical and semantic features of the novel with elements of fantasy and their meaning in translation, using comparative analysis. It determined the accomplishment of such objectives as:  profound analysis of the theoretical and methodological foundations of the translation process and translation techniques;  analysis of the original text and its translation and evaluation of the use of translation techniques. The paper contains key provisions of the theory of translation studies, studied by various scholars (V. Komissarov, S. Barkhudarov, K. Reiss, E. Nida, A. Popovich, etc.). Lexical-semantic, grammatical and lexical transformations are an integral part in the translation of the novel “Miss Peregrines home for peculiar children”. Among the characteristic features of the lexical-semantic level, it should be noted that the author of the novel created new words (quasilexical elements), words specific to a certain culture (realities). These types of linguistic units are most often translated using lexical translation transformations, namely calquing and transliteration. An important aspect is that the translator managed to achieve the same emotional and aesthetic impact on the reader, preserving the content of the novel as intended by the author.

Об’єкт дослідження: перекладацькі трансформації та лексико-семантичні особливості роману Ренсома Ріґґза «Дім дивних дітей» з досягненням повної адекватності та еквівалентності при перекладі. Мета роботи: аналіз та вивчення лексико-семантичних особливостей роману з елементами фентезі та їх значення при перекладі, використовуючи порівняльний аналіз. Теоретико-методологічні засади: ключові положення теорії перекладознавства (В. Коміссаров, С. Бархударов, К. Райс, Ю. Найда, А. Попович та ін.). Отримані результати: лексико-семантичні, граматичні та лексичні трансформації є невід'ємною частиною у процесі перекладу роману «Дім дивних дітей». Серед характерних особливостей лексико-семантичного рівня, слід виділити те, що автор роману створював нові слова (квазілексеми), слова характерні для певної культури (реалії). Для перекладу таких типів мовних одиниць найчастіше використовуються лексичні перекладацькі трансформації, а саме: калькування та транслітерація. Вагомим аспектом є те, що перекладачу вдалося здійснити таке ж саме емоційно-естетичне навантаження на читача, зберігаючи закладений автором зміст роману.
