Фінансово-економічна лексика сучасної англійської мови як проблема перекладу

Abstract

EN : The thesis presents the comprehensive study of semantic structure, pragmatic as well as stylistic functioning of financial and economic vocabulary. A special attention has been paid to the main peculiarities of the translation of this particular group of vocabulary from English into Ukrainian. The work provides some insights into the problem of word-building processes in the system of financial and economic vocabulary. It reveals the activity of certain word-formation types and mechanisms, analyses the formation of new productive derivational elements. The morphological structure of English financial and economic vocabulary is conditioned by the typology of English word-forming processes. Special attention is paid to the comprehensive study of the semantic derivation within the system of financial and economic vocabulary in English and its comparative analysis with the similar Ukrainian vocabulary. The study determines the role of specific social and economic factors in the development of the financial and economic vocabulary. A thorough analysis of certain peculiarities of functional and stylistic nature of the vocabulary under consideration as well as correlation and variance between different lexical layers of financial and economic vocabulary has also been conducted. The target of this paper is to underline the problems of translation of financial and economic vocabulary from English into Ukrainian. The translation methods of financial and economic terms, neologisms, realias, abbreviations, phraseological units, cliches and professional jargon are explored. The translation strategy for the financial and economic vocabulary is to provide semantic and pragmatic peculiarities of a lexical unit by rendering its denotative and intra-lingual meanings on the basis of full incorporation of resources of target language and culture, taking into account extra-linguistic factors and offering optimal translation equivalence.

Теоретико-методологічні засади: ключові положення теорії дискурсу та термінознавства (В. Артюх, А. Д’яков, Т. Кияк, З. Куделько, С. Кришталь, Д. С. Лотте, Б. М. Головін та ін.). Отримані результати: Узагальнено особливості різних груп фінансово-економічної лексики та її властивості; визначено особливості фінансово-економічних термінів; уточнено поняття та характеристики фінансово-економічних реалій та фразеологізмів; проведено дослідження частотності стратегій та прийомів перекладу фінансово-економічної термінології; визначено основні прийоми перекладу безеквівалентної фінансово-економічної лексики; досліджено особливості утворення та прийоми перекладу нової фінансово-економічної термінології та скорочень.
