Subject of research: content and pedagogical conditions that ensure the effectiveness of training future primary school teachers to implement a competency-based approach in NUS. The purpose of the research: theoretical substantiation and experimental approbation of the content and pedagogical conditions of preparation of future primary school teachers for the introduction of the competence approach in NUS. The essence of the concepts "competence" and "competence" is clarified in the work; readiness to implement the competency approach in NUS is determined; the pedagogical conditions of implementation of the competence approach are substantiated and the quantitative and qualitative analysis of their application is carried out.
