Особливості англомовних кінотекстів та специфіка їхнього перекладу (на матеріалі кінострічок у жанрах драма, трилер)

Abstract

EN : The presented work aimed to establish the genre specification of audiovisual texts, and to identify the main difficulties encountered in a particular genre. In the beginning, we had to find the correct translation typology of the texts. Therefore, we used the works of very famous researchers in this field. In the theoretical part, we can distinguish two main classifications of Albrecht Neubert and Katharina Reiss. We used a detailed examination of Neubert's pragmatic typology uses only one-side criteria. Unlike the first typology, Katharina Reiss proposed a classification that satisfies all evaluation criteria. Such as the aim and techniques that are used in different types of the text. She also singled out audio media texts, which was one of the reasons for us to choose this particular classification. Taking into account all modern tendencies in cinema industry, we can say that there are three types of translation of film texts: off-screen translation (voiceover), dubbing and subtitling. Subtitling is considered to be the easiest type of text translation, because it does not require a lot of time and resources. Unlike the first type, off-screen translation requires more time and attention to the details and especially to visual and audio part of the film text. It is the middle chain between subtitling and dubbing. In turn, dubbing requires a lot of time, effort and resources to successfully create an adequate translation. Moreover, there are a large number of ways and opportunities when translating into dubbing. Difficulties with synchronization can be a real challenge even for an experienced translator. These types of translation of the film text, together with the genre features of the film text, have an incredible impact on the linguistic aspects of the work. The genre specification of the work can affect not only the dynamics of the story, or the overall tone of the film. It also plays a significant role in establishing certain lexical, stylistic and grammatical aspects in the process of translation, such as phraseology, metaphors, terminology, abbreviations and so on. There is a system which can translate units of text using various translation techniques. These translation techniques refer to direct and indirect translation. Direct translation techniques preserve the lexical, semantic and grammatical unity of the original text. With the help of indirect types, the translator can change the meaning of original message, expressions, sentences and so on. Thus, the issue of genre specification of audiovisual texts is still open and current today.

Об’єкт дослідження: кінотексти трьох фільмів у жанрі трилер, драма ("The Grand Budapest Hotel", "Apocalypse Now", "Shutter Island") на мові оригіналу, та переклад українською мовою. Мета роботи: проаналізувати зібрані одиниці перекладу у рамках жанрової специфікації кінотекстів. Визначити взаємодію між жанром кінотексту і використаними у ньому техніками перекладу та лексикостилістичними одиницями. Теоретико-методологічні засади: теоретичні засади, щодо типології текстів, жанрових особливостей аудіомедіальних матеріалів, визначення головних труднощів, характерних для кожного типу перекладу кінотексту: К. Райс, В. Н. Комісаров, А. Нойбрехт, А. В. Козуляєв, В. С. Виноградов, А. В. Федоров, В. Г. Власов та інші. Отримані результати: Жанрові особливості мають прямий вплив на використання різноманітних лексичних одиниць і граматичних конструкцій у кінотексті. Перекладач використовує систему прямих і непрямих технік перекладу щоб подолати труднощі, пов’язані із особливістями кінотексту. Непрямі техніки перекладу включають в себе: транспозицію, модуляцію, еквіваленцію і адаптацію. Прямі способи перекладу більш характерні для закадрового перекладу, хоча доволі часто зустрічаються в дубляжу. Вони включають в себе: запозичення, калькування і дослівний переклад.
