Abstract
EN : This paper examines the representation of naturalistic vocabulary in the dictionaries of Australian and New Zealand English. The study focuses on the lexicon related to flora, fauna, climatic phenomena, and geographical and cultural concepts, demonstrating how dictionaries reflect both linguistic and socio-cultural features of these varieties of English. The analysis shows that dictionaries not only record lexical items but also preserve the interaction between language, nature, and culture. Many entries originate from indigenous languages, which highlights the role of lexicography in shaping and maintaining national identity. The results of the research confirm the significance of naturalistic vocabulary in the linguistic worldview of English-speaking communities in Australia and New Zealand and emphasize the importance of dictionaries as tools for studying national linguistic and cultural heritage. In conclusion, naturalistic vocabulary is a key element in shaping the linguistic worldview of Australian and New Zealand English. The inclusion of indigenous borrowings, cultural references, and ecological terminology in dictionaries underscores their role as instruments of cultural memory and identity formation.
