EN : My work presents an analysis of linguistic features based on the novel by F. S. Fitzgerald “The Great Gatsby”.
The main idea of the presented work is in determining the linguistic features of the translation and comparing them with the original. The most interesting thing was studying and understanding how the Ukrainian translation differs from the original.
The goal of the work was to find as many transformations as possible that describe all the differences between languages.
Professional translators can work with any type of translation, but in order not only to fully convey the content of the source, but also to take into account many nuances, you need to understand the specifics and be able to reflect it in the translated text. For example, almost all translators will be able to make a literal translation of a poem. But in order to reflect the meaning of conveying what the poet wanted to express, and even more so to make the finished text no less good poetic work, you need poetic talent.
Therefore, true professionals specialize in specific types of texts: and all of them can be divided into several main groups:
- Artistic translation;
- scientific and technical translation;
- socio-journalistic.
In my work, I studied only the features of artistic translations. In order to work in this direction, a translator should ideally have a literary talent. The com-plexity of this type of translation in many phrases inherent in the original lan-guage, images that are understandable to native speakers and that do not say any-thing to those who are not familiar with it.

Об’єкт дослідження: лінгвальні особливості у перекладах українською мовою роману Ф. С. Фіцджеральда “The Great Gatsby”.
Мета роботи: виявлення лінгвальних особливостей у перекладах українською мовою роману Ф. С. Фіцджеральда “The Great Gatsby” и порівнянні з оригіналом.
Теоретико-методологічні засади: ключові положення теорії дискурсу, розроблені в лінгвістиці та літературознавстві.
Отримані результати: дослідження перекладів роману показало, що національно-культурний компонент при відтворенні цільовою мовою може бути або переданим (часто – не цілком повноцінно) або підміненим чи втраченим повністю, що пов’язано із засобами відтворення реалій. Зага-лом, усі засоби відтворення реалій і власних назв можна умовно поділити на три групи, при яких: 1) національно-культурний компонент реалій збе-режено максимально (засіб транслітерації та дескриптивної перифрази); 2) національно-культурний компонент зберігається частково (метод віднайдення ситуативного відповідника, гіперонімічне перейменування); 3) національно-культурний компонент втрачається повністю або замінюється національно-культурним компонентом реалії цільової мови (метод уподіб-нення). У перекладах роману “The Great Gatsby” Ф. С. Фіцджеральда, зав-дяки розширенню кількості та якості уживаних засобів відтворення реалій, максимально відтворений національно-культурний компонент реалій оригіналу.
